Farrakhan Released After Hospital Surgery

WASHINGTON —
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan was discharged from Howard University Hospital on Wednesday after treatment related to his prostate cancer, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Farrakhan, 65, was taken to the hospital last week for surgery to correct an inflammation caused by cancer treatment.
On Tuesday, his doctors said that Farrakhan, who was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1991, was free of the disease. Nation of Islam officials said then that Farrakhan would continue a three-month sabbatical.
