Apples and Oranges
It was entirely unfair of Robert Hilburn to review and then compare the performances of two different acts (Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette) from two separate concerts in two different cities (“Aiming High and Wide,” April 5).
What was the point of lumping these two together? I have a guess. So he can continue to drool over Alanis Morissette to an already bored--and embarrassed--public. But was it really necessary to drag Sheryl Crow (who has a completely different audience than Morissette) through the mud in order to sing the praises of Morissette?
Sheryl Crow (any artist, for that matter) deserves to be treated on her own merits, not as a tool for Hilburn’s ulterior motive.
