Teacher Pay Raise

I am a teacher in LAUSD with 15 years’ experience. I worked my tail off taking classes for five years to reach the “top” of the pay scale. Our hard-won 2% pay raise netted me a whopping total of $93! I am tempted to send this exorbitant sum back to the district; maybe it could be put toward getting my third-graders some science and social studies books, which the superintendent promised for every child. In order to make up for their spending blunders (Belmont, et al.) and high salaries, they obviously need it more than I.
