2 Suspects Seized in Las Vegas Heist
With helicopters hovering, police swarmed on a remote mountain hideaway and arrested two brothers in connection with a $1.6-million armed robbery in Las Vegas. Richard Alan Gonce, 59, and Fain T. Gonce, 63, were taken into custody for the Dec. 28, 1997, armed robbery of the United Coin Machine Co., said state police officer Mike Applegate. More than a dozen members of the state police tactical team, supported by Las Vegas detectives and sheriff’s deputies, raided the brothers’ isolated home near the Gila National Forest of southwestern New Mexico.
