* Los Angeles is crying out for education reform. This reform must begin in the first classroom, the home, with the first teachers, the parents. The first lesson plan should be about the “Golden Rule.” This lesson plan should be reviewed often, just as basic math concepts are reviewed.
In both public and private schools, some students are disrespectful to their teachers and their peers. Many of these same students disrupt the class to the point that others cannot learn, and seldom, if ever, do their homework. Private schools have the option to expel any student who is disruptive, refuses to follow the rules or in any way disturbs the learning process. Public schools cannot “pick and choose” their students.
“It takes a village” does not mean it is the responsibility of everyone except the child’s own parents to raise a child.
