Voice Powered Technology Reports Quarterly Loss

Voice Powered Technology International in Simi Valley reported a net loss of $236,605 for the quarter ended Dec. 31 on sales of $739,249.

The company, in its 10K filing for the year, adopted “fresh start” reporting as of May 12, 1998, the effective date of its reorganization plan. For the 7 1/2 months ended Dec. 31, the company reported a net loss of $483,550 on sales of $1.6 million.

The net loss-per-share for the quarter and the 7 1/2-month period was less than 1 cent.

Voice Powered Technology designs portable voice-recognition electronic products under the IQVOICE brand. Its most successful product is the IQVOICE Organizer, a voice-powered calendar, reminder, telephone directory and recorder.
