GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

* Bechtel National Inc. of San Francisco won a $16.1-million contract from the Navy in Port Hueneme for engineering services for marine and underwater structures.

* Aspen Environmental Group of Agoura Hills won a $657,165 contract from the Army in Los Angeles for professional support services.

* S. Bennett Construction in Fillmore was awarded a contract for $494,794 from Ventura County to restore the Fagan Canyon bank in Santa Paula. The project calls for construction of 760 linear feet of bank and five concrete rock riprap stabilizers north of Santa Paula Street and east of Cemetery Road.

The project is scheduled for completion June 17.

* A&R; Construction Corp. of Northridge was awarded a contract for $71,341 from Ventura County to build handicapped access ramps on sidewalks east of Wendy Drive in Newbury Park.

The project is scheduled to begin today and be completed by June 1.
