Sweet Cure for Sour Behavior

Share

These pills will never be approved by the Food and Drug Administration or prescribed by doctors, but if you’re having a bad hair day or suffering from an inflated ego, they offer relief. Comic relief.

A Chicago company called Innovative Concepts has developed an entire pharmacy of over-the-candy-counter remedies for previously incurable personal problems. The sugary concoctions include Cheepo Medication for Tightwads, a bottle of green candy for patients with “unusually short arms and deep pockets.” The directions advise taking half a pill just before dining out with friends so that “when the bill comes, you’ll feel like paying your share instead of disappearing into the bathroom or fumbling around in your wallet.”

Wrong number--A story (“Sweet Cure for Sour Behavior”) in Tuesday’s Southern California Living section listed an incorrect telephone number for Innovative Concept Marketing, an Illinois company that makes gag candy pills. The correct number is (800) 386-6373.

There are also Beer Belly Pills--for people who “drink beer for a living” and have “the front of their pants putting in time-and-a-half”--and Getalife Baditude Anti-Attitude Pills, which are said to chase away “sour facial expressions, big egos and excessive coolness.”

Last but not least are Bad Hair Day Pills. Directions: Take two tablets and go back to bed; “the only way to cure a bad hair day is to avoid one.”

Innovative Concepts can be reached at (773) 427-0401.
