California’s Gasoline Prices Move Lower

Share

California’s average price of regular self-service unleaded gasoline fell 2.6 cents per gallon to $1.568 per gallon for the week ended Monday, according to the Energy Information Administration. Nationwide, the average price inched nearly half a cent lower to $1.131 per gallon, the agency said. Gasoline prices began rising two months ago, following refinery problems in California and a decision by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to reduce oil production, which boosted crude oil prices on world markets. Gasoline peaked at $1.624 in California on April 12 and has retreated nearly 6 cents per gallon since then.
