Capistrano Unified will hold a ground-breaking ceremony today for Kinoshita Elementary School, scheduled to open in fall 2000. The district’s 30th elementary school is named after the Kinoshita family, which has lived and farmed in San Juan Capistrano since 1955. The Kinoshita family awards a $500 scholarship each year to a Serra High School graduate. The event begins at 10 a.m. at 25611 Camino del Avion, behind the San Juan Community Center.
