Barksdale Group Invests in HomeGrocer.com

Former Netscape Communications Corp. Chief Executive Jim Barksdale’s venture group invested $5 million in HomeGrocer.com Inc., a closely held online grocery-shopping and home-delivery service based in Seattle. The investment is the first for Barksdale Group, which will act as an investment and advisory group for Internet software and service start-ups. Barksdale will join the HomeGrocer.com board.
