Mom Charged After Kids’ Deaths
Child abandonment charges were filed Thursday against the mother of two children found dead in a creek, but police would not say if she is a suspect in their deaths.
Tina Marie Cornelius, 22, was sought for days after the discovery of her children, 3-year-old Amanda Lee Miller and 2-year-old Dominick Logan Cornelius. They were found April 19 in six inches of water in a creek south of Hutto. Autopsies showed the girl was suffocated and the boy had a cracked skull.
Authorities found Cornelius on Wednesday in Corpus Christi. Cornelius has told authorities she saw the children “injured and lying in the creek and thought they were alive when she left,” a Williamson County sheriff’s statement said.
