Huldah Hunter, a longtime resident of the city, celebrated her 100th birthday at the senior center Saturday. Hunter, a former teacher and later a missionary in Kenya, India and the Far East, was the first person to celebrate her 100th birthday at the center. Hunter, who still teaches vacation Bible classes at the First Presbyterian Church, came to the city in 1969 and has been an active member of the community since, said Betty Goyne, supervisor at the senior center. “I have known her for 20 years,” Goyne said. “She’s a neat lady, a bright and caring person.”
