TV Copter Spots 2 Women Adrift

A mother and daughter adrift overnight were plucked from the Atlantic Ocean after they were spotted by the crew of a news helicopter, and said they were grateful to be alive despite jellyfish stings and hypothermia. Anna Goodwyn, 50, and Vicky Goodwyn, 32, were still wearing their orange life jackets and crying with relief during their rescue, which was aired live on a midday Miami news show. They had been floating in relatively calm waters for almost 20 hours, according to the Coast Guard. Their 15-foot pleasure boat took on water Monday at about 3:30 p.m. EDT then sank off Elliott Key, about 20 miles southeast of Miami in or near Biscayne National Park.
