From Times Wire Reports

At least 32 people were killed and 13 injured in gun battles and an explosion in India’s northern state of Jammu and Kashmir, army and police officials said. The officials said that battles between militants and soldiers killed at least 18 guerrillas, five soldiers and six civilians. Police said three people were killed when a bomb exploded. The violence underscores tensions lingering in Kashmir after Indian troops ousted militants on India’s side of the line dividing the disputed Himalayan region with Pakistan.
