There They Go Again at IVC
* Re “Obstructed Views,” Aug. 2:
I can’t believe that these bonehead professors at Irvine Valley College are at it again.
They started out pretty well. The cloakroom meetings were wrong and they are gone. Now the same people who identified that illegal activity are looking for a new cause: doors and windows.
The way I see it, those doors and windows at IVC are mine. They don’t belong to the professors. They belong to the taxpayers who pay their salaries.
I like to think that the professors are paid to teach. Why are we paying them to decorate? IVC is a community college, not a kindergarten. Besides, in addition to the bathroom walls, IVC has kiosks located throughout the campus for free expression.
The professors think that getting in the news will help their cause. The only cause they are likely to help is reducing enrollment at IVC.
If all of these jerks would just listen to each other, first they would be embarrassed. Next they would reach a compromise. And then the sandbox would once again be a peaceful place and IVC could return to providing quality education.
Isn’t that what it’s there for?
