Armed Robbers Hit Travel Agency
Two men staged an armed takeover robbery Saturday afternoon at a travel agency, police said, getting away with airline tickets and cash.
The men--one armed with a semiautomatic handgun--walked into the World of Travel Inc. agency in the 22000 block of Victory Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. and shepherded customers to the rear of the building.
There the men took wallets, jewelry and cash from travel agents and customers, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Ralphs. The men also took an undetermined number of airline tickets from the agency, police said.
Witnesses described the men as in their mid-20s, wearing baseball caps and having thin builds. They drove away in an aqua-blue vehicle.
