Now Let’s Get Our Heads Straight

No doubt by now you have heard from many armchair Egyptologists regarding “Cruise Down the Nile Aisle” (by Chris Rubin, So SoCal, July 11), but I wanted to add my two cents. You refer to the Egyptian gods Thoth and Horus as having “anteater” and “eagle” heads, respectively. I feel compelled to let you know that Thoth (or Tehuti) actually has the head of an ibis (a bird), and Horus’ head is more commonly described as a falcon’s.

But thanks for a great piece about the Vista Theater renovation. I’ll have to go there and take a look in person.
