CB to Put Its Listings Online

Real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis on Monday said it will distribute most of its “For Sale” listings exclusively on Propertyfirst.com Inc., a new online real estate information network.

Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis is the first major customer for Property.first.com, one of several online services seeking to dominate the electronic distribution of commercial property and leasing information. The agreement does not include listings for lease.

Under the agreement, Ellis will use Alhambra-based Propertyfirst.com as its exclusive online distributor of investment listings unless a client demands broader distribution. Ellis also will use the online firm’s software for its internal listing systems, according to President and Chief Executive John Stanfill, the former president of the investment properties division of CB Richard Ellis.

The exclusive relationship between Propertyfirst.com and CB Richard Ellis, one of the nation’s largest real estate brokerages, will not pose much of a challenge to CoStar Group Inc., a major provider of electronic listings, according to CoStar President and Chief Executive Andrew C. Florance.

CB Richard Ellis currently uses CoStar to distribute 1,350 investment listings--a tiny fraction of the more than 300,000 investment and leasing listings that CoStar currently has available, Florance said.
