NEWPORT BEACH
The City Council on Monday approved the installation of a roof sign at Blockbuster Video. With Councilman Tod Ridgeway abstaining, the council upheld a July Planning Commission decision for the business, which is at 3007 East Coast Highway.
Initially, the commission was concerned about the size and quality of the sign, and the use of the Blockbuster torn ticket logo on the roof of the structure. The company resubmitted the proposal, limiting the logo sign to 4 by 6 feet.
