Leader of Christian Coalition Backs Assassination as Policy
Christian Coalition President Pat Robertson said assassinating rogue world leaders would be more practical than U.S. policy that bans such killings.
Robertson made his comments Monday on the “700 Club,” a nationally syndicated television show on his Christian Broadcasting Network.
“I know it sounds somewhat Machiavellian and evil,” Robertson said. “But isn’t it better to do something like that, to take out [Yugoslav President Slobodan] Milosevic, to take out [Iraqi President] Saddam Hussein, rather than to spend billions of dollars on a war that harms innocent civilians and destroys the infrastructure of a country?”
Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which monitors the “700 Club,” disclosed the comments in a news release criticizing Robertson.
A CBN spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.
