Walker’s Fitness Regimen Qualifies as Addiction

Share

Your readers should not envy the passion and drive of Dr. Marc Abrams (“He’s Proceeding at a Healthy Pace,” Aug. 8), who walks 125 miles, swims seven miles and does 7,000 push-ups per week. While our fat-obsessed society may be jealous that he can maintain 2% body fat and eat all he wants, I can assure you he is not taking care of his body. The good doctor has an addiction just like alcohol or drugs. In addition, there is no question that he is promoting degenerative changes to his spinal column and joints. Will you be writing about him when he becomes a wheelchair athlete? I don’t call this proceeding at a healthy pace.
