* Re “Heroic Race to Save Boy’s Life,” Aug. 15: What an emotional experience! I could not control my crying. Times staff writers Terrence Monmaney and Annette Kondo provided your readers with a stirring and heart-warming description of saving the life of 5-year-old Benjamin Kadish. It makes one realize that there are good people in our world, people anxious to help others--regardless of race, color or religion.

Would that our society could only inculcate similar feelings in all others--especially those with twisted minds and hearts like Buford Furrow. Perhaps, someday.

* In the midst of our pain and shock over one more insane shooting spree, I want to commend you for this article.
