Dear Cynthia: I have had the strangest dreams. They involve me flying in at different altitudes.
In my first dream I am flying in vivid color. I touch the whitest clouds in the bluest skies. It was so wonderful, I was actually disappointed when I woke up.
Then, in another, I am running on land and jumping into the air, taking off into flight. I am in flight for a short distances, then I amforced to land.
Finally, I have a dream where I am successful in taking off but can’t seem to get as high as I want to be. But I am above people who are trying to grab at me.
The dream ends with me flying along, barely exceeding their grasps.

Dear Reader: Flying in dreams is one of the most wonderful experiences that people describe.
Flying can represent rising above our daily concerns. Through this experience, we can gain perspective or simply rejoice in the freedom of soaring unheeded.
In the first rendition of this dream, you are so happy, apart from any earthly concerns. But, in the second account, being forced to land may indicate a warning from the unconscious mind that you have a tendency to evade problems when you really need to stay focused and solve them.
In the third version of the dream, when you fly just above the grasp of others--again you may be trying to dodge responsibilities.
An occasional vacation from daily stress is a healthy part of a balanced life. However, a tendency to avoid dealing with others and our responsibilities can be destructive.
Perhaps your various dreams are asking you to balance your obligations and your desire to be free of these daily responsibilities.
If others tend to drag you down, you may want to evaluate your circumstances, separating yourself from those individuals who are not supportive of your best interests.
