BIP Bottnia Internet Provider, a Swedish Internet marketing company, said Swedes can get its Internet service for free if they buy ice cream from Hemglass trucks.

The trucks reach 90% of all Swedish households as they travel residential areas. Hemglass has 200 ice cream vans, which make 15,000 stops every day.

“All visitors to the Hemglass trucks will be able to pick up a free Internet subscription as a fun extra offer,” said Mats Werderitsch, head of marketing at Hemglass.

BIP has developed a technique for marketing products and services on the Internet. It offers free Internet subscriptions to users who submit personal information such as age, profession and interests.

With 235,000 registered users, BIP said it is Sweden’s fourth-largest Internet service provider.

“We’re convinced this offer will have a good impact on all households Hemglass reaches,” said Nicholas Hoegberg, chief executive at BIP.
