Olinda Elementary School won’t have a principal when students start classes Wednesday, but the vacancy could be filled in about three weeks, school officials said. Brea Olinda Unified School District will choose from among 15 candidates that will be interviewed next week. If the final candidate comes from outside the district, the school board would have to approve the hiring. The position opened when Sherrill Clevenger took the principal job at Mariposa Elementary School. Until a new principal is selected, the district will appoint a teacher to temporarily fill the role.
