As Saddleback College continues growing along with South County, the school is struggling to find the parking it needs to accommodate more students. More than 20,909 students signed up for community college classes when the fall term began Monday. The new enrollment represents a growth of about 4% over 1998 and may continue to rise as students continue to register for classes through Sept. 3. “For the first time we are actually running out of parking. This semester we are at capacity,” college spokeswoman Susan Lemkin said. School officials will address the problem at administrative meetings, but so far there are no solutions in the works, officials said.
