VENTURA COUNTY BUSINESS : GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS
* Taft Electric Co. in Ventura was awarded a contract for $76,384 from Ventura County to install standby generators at the El Rio Maintenance Yard. The project includes installation of sound enclosures, base-mounted fuel tanks, automatic transfer switches and electrical wiring.
The work is scheduled to begin today and be finished by Dec. 30.
* Calex Engineering Co. in Newhall was awarded a contract for $59,114 from Ventura County to repair storm damage on Foothill Road at the Ellsworth Barranca in Ventura. The project involves replacing damaged embankment, plus installing embankment protection and drainage facilities.
The work is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 8.
