From Times Wire Reports

New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani was seated on a civil-court jury in Manhattan Supreme Court, the state’s trial court. The case involves a tenant seeking $6 million from his landlord, contending that he was scalded by a faulty shower. Oliver Johnson also wants $1 million on behalf of his wife for loss of his services. Giuliani, the Republican likely to run for New York’s U.S. Senate seat next year, was chosen first from a panel of 125 potential jurors after lawyers on both sides had questioned him. As such, he automatically becomes foreman. He insisted he could concentrate on the case, barring any city disasters.
