1. My mother was a secret garlic lover. When I started cooking for myself, I realized she’d used garlic in literally everything but dessert. And that’s the way I cook too.

But I’ve never been satisfied with any of the dozens of garlic presses I’ve owned. They all seemed crude, troublesome and wasteful. I haven’t used a garlic press at all since this effective little Italian garlic grater by Inox came on the market. It will even grate part of a clove (if you’re the sort of person who wants only part of a clove), and if you use the blade on the reverse side, it will slice garlic too.
