EBay OKs AuctionRover Listing
Web auction leader EBay agreed to allow AuctionRover.com to display EBay’s auction data beside auction listings from other online auctioneers. The agreement contrasts with EBay’s recent move to block its offerings from being listed on a similar service offered by AuctionWatch.com. AuctionRover.com, based in Research Triangle Park, N.C., accepted the company’s demands that EBay’s auction summaries be more comprehensive and that EBay’s auction listings will be segregated from all other auction vendors. By separating EBay auctions from those of competing auctioneers, users face a slightly greater challenge in comparing items for sale--one reason AuctionWatch rejected the requirements. EBay is in San Jose and holds about 70% of tvehfied consumer auctions market.
