Yarter New President and CEO at Gish Biomedical in Irvine

Gish Biomedical Inc., which has posted losses the last three fiscal years and slashed its payroll, on Thursday named James R. Yarter president and chief executive officer.

Yarter was president and chief executive of Block Medical and U.S. Medical.

He succeeds Jack Brown, who resigned in September as chairman, president and chief executive of the Irvine designer and manufacturer of disposable medical devices. Gish formed a committee of board members to serve as chief executive until a successor was chosen.

Over the last three years, the company has lost more than $5.6 million. * Terence P. McClelland has been appointed director of sales for V-Systems Inc. in San Juan Capistrano. Previously, he was vice president of sales for Jones Business Systems Inc. and a business development/account manager for Microware Distributors.

* Alan J. Friedman has become a partner in the bankruptcy and commercial litigation law firm of Marshack Shulman & Hodges LLP in Irvine, which will now be known as Marshack Shulman Hodges & Friedman LLP. He will head the business reorganization practice. Friedman was most recently a partner with Lobel, Opera & Friedman LLP in Newport Beach.

* John M. Mullan has joined Imperial Business Credit Inc., an equipment finance company, as senior vice president for sales and marketing. He will maintain offices at the San Diego headquarters and the branch office in Irvine. Mullan had been a vice president in the corporate banking department of Southern California Bank’s Newport Beach office.

* Peggy Ouimet has been appointed director of product marketing for MTI Technology Corp. in Anaheim. She had been with Western Digital Corp. for more than 11 years, most recently as director of marketing.
