Diedrich Coffee Inc. and the Johnny Rockets restaurant chain, both based in Irvine, have signed on as two of the first online merchants to be listed with Go2 Systems Inc., a new Internet service that made its debut last week.

Registered Go2 merchants can provide specific information about each of their locations to consumers who are searching for the nearest outlet, as well as other information such as phone and fax numbers and maps.

Companies pay a standard rate of $19.95 a month per location, but chains with several units are given a discount, according to Bill Groux, director of sales, national accounts.

“If a retailer advertises in the telephone book, there’s no way to measure how much business that brings,” Groux said. “We are able to tell them how many people have clicked onto their logo or how many people downloaded a coupon.”

Diedrich and Johnny Rockets can also use the service to promote weekly, daily or hourly specials.

Go2 Systems Inc. is based in Irvine.
