Insurer Extends Tender Offer for Centris

The Houston company wooing shareholders of insurer Centris Group Inc. in Costa Mesa said Thursday that it is extending its $12.50-a-share cash tender offer for Centris stock until Dec. 17.
The extension is the second that HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. has given in its bid to acquire the insurance holding company in a transaction valued at about $171 million.
HCC said that 6.2 million, or about 54% of Centris’ shares, have been tendered as of Dec. 8.
