Damage control for Northern Ireland’s peace process will be on the agenda when the prime ministers of Ireland and Britain meet in Finland to discuss a bugging device found in the car of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams. Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern said he regarded the bugging as a “serious matter” and would discuss it with British counterpart Tony Blair during a previously arranged meeting at a European Union summit in Helsinki. Adams said the microphone, wiring and transmitter were found in the car used by his Roman Catholic republican party during talks with rival pro-British Protestant politicians.
