DWP Mailing

I’m generally not one to praise politicians or write letters to the editor, but kudos to Jayne Shapiro (“Assembly Contenders Take Issue With DWP Mailing,” Political Briefing, Nov. 25).
Her response to questions about a Department of Water and Power mailing potentially promoting general manager David Freeman politically seems more reasonable. Rather than complain tit for tat, she suggests a common-sense approach. ZIP code error or not, I’m with Shapiro on this one.
If Freeman benefited politically from a government mailing, he should reimburse taxpayers. It’s that simple. And by the way, congratulations to DWP for supporting the environment through “green power.”
