JeTech Data Systems in Camarillo has appointed Mark Friedman as chief operating officer to oversee its marketing, professional services, administration and human resources departments.

The company also announced the appointment of Jack Karabees as vice president of sales for corporate accounts.

JeTech, which focuses on developing software technology for labor resource planning, has experienced 530% revenue growth in the past five years. It recently launched elabor.com, which has tools for time and attendance monitoring, time card approval, payroll preparation, scheduling, absence notification and employee self-services.

Michael Edell, JeTech’s president and chief executive, said Friedman’s expertise is needed as the company moves into e-business.

“We need both the skills and the inspired leadership that Mark can provide to move JeTech at Internet speed,” Edell said. “Mark is an expert in operations management in the Internet age and has a talent for fostering creative innovation.”

Before joining JeTech, Friedman served as chief operating officer of Perinatal Practice Management after a four-year stint as president of its subsidiary, Alfigen--the Genetics Institute.

Friedman has also held executive positions in manufacturing and business consulting companies.

Karabees will head elabor.com’s forays into middle market companies with fewer than 2,500 employees.

“Jack is an original thinker, and that’s always a paramount consideration for anyone joining the JeTech team,” Edell said.
