Tonos.com Music Network Names a CEO

* Steve Hansen has been named chief executive of Tonos.com, a Web-based digital music network formed by songwriters Carole Bayer Sager, David Foster and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. The site, to be launched early next year, will provide video and interviews with entertainers and will offer aspiring artists a place to get their work noticed. Hansen was formerly chief operating officer of Geocities. Matt Farber was named Tonos.com president and chief operating officer. He came from entertainment company ICast. Tonos.com is based in Los Angeles.

Gold Circle Label Group has promoted Dan Davis to president. The company, a division of Gold Circle Entertainment, handles marketing for Samson Records, Chapter III Records, Triloka Records and Back 9 Records. Davis’ appointment coincides with the company’s decision to move all of its music entities to Santa Monica from Omaha.

Iwerks Entertainment Inc. of Burbank, a maker of giant-screen and other high-tech entertainment systems, has promoted Don Stults to the position of senior vice president of operations. For the last six months, Stults has been the company’s vice president of operations. Before joining Iwerks, he was the president and founder of Pioneer Technology Corp., the company that created Iwerks’ patented projection technology.

Right Start Inc. of Westlake Village, a children’s products retailer, has named three senior officers for its Rightstart.com. online subsidiary: Raymond Springer, who was named executive vice president and chief financial officer; Kendrick Royer, senior vice president and general counsel; and Lisa Mittleman, vice president of marketing.
