The recent WTO talks in Seattle may have been a disaster, but small-business owners seeking to move ahead with their exporting plans can find some help at a new government Web site geared just for them.

TradeNet’s Export Advisor (https://www.tradenet.gov) is being billed as a one-stop shop at which small- and medium-sized businesses can get free assistance. The site was created by the SBA in conjunction with a host of governmental agencies with the goal of putting their resources together in one spot. Users will find a wide variety of information, including market research, trade leads and financing help.

Meanwhile, the folks in Washington have given a face lift to the U.S. Business Advisor (https://www.business.gov), which is the business community’s primary electronic link to all the information and services offered by the federal government. Business owners can get online information from more than 60 organizations that assist or regulate business.
