School Shootings

Only in America! I knew it would happen again! It will keep happening until the NRA is officially abolished and its 3 million members arrested. They must be forever silenced and forbidden to assemble. What am I talking about? Another school shooting. A 17-year-old sprayed bullets in a hallway and classroom, wounding four students and a teacher. It’s the NRA’s fault.

Only in America! How dare these gun nuts hold our nation hostage based on 200-year-old documents? The Bill of Rights that these old geezers crafted is as outdated as the buggy whip. The blind disciples of the Constitution (NRA) use the tired, silly and irrelevant notions of freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the right to bear arms to make our country a horrible and laughable place to live.

The story I’m talking about was printed in the Dec. 8 Times and the shooting occurred in a school in the town of Veghel, Netherlands. Oops! Never mind. I think I’ll go now.

Re “13-Year-Old Shoots Four Schoolmates,” Dec. 7:

When are Americans going to learn that it is guns that kill, not just people? If the grown-ups in this country would lock up their guns in a place not accessible by children, maybe there would be less of this senseless shooting.

Guns should be locked up and hidden from sight. Once locked up, they should be kept locked up. Teenagers, or anyone not authorized to use guns, should be prevented from getting access to guns.

Any deviation from the above should be punishable by imprisonment of up to one year or more. I know the NRA would be “mad as hell” if such a law would be passed. But how else are we going to keep innocent people from being shot?
