Share

Diodes Inc. in Westlake Village announced that it will invest an additional $6.5 million to boost production at its manufacturing facility on mainland China. This is in addition to an initial $4.5-million investment the company reported in June. The combined investment is expected to raise manufacturing capacity at Diodes-China by approximately 65%.

The additional expansion is expected to be completed by mid-2000, according to Michael Rosenberg, president and CEO of Diodes. The extra capacity generated by the earlier $4.5-million expansion has already been sold out through 2000, Rosenberg said.

Diodes produces semiconductor devices and customer support to manufacturers in the automotive, electronics, computer and telecommunications industries. The company’s products are used in notebook computers, pagers, PCMCIA cards, modems and automotive control systems.
