Advance Recognition Signs Deal with Acer Peripherals

Advanced Recognition Technologies in Simi Valley has signed a license agreement to provide its voice and handwriting recognition technologies to Acer Peripherals Inc.

The technologies will serve as the user interfaces for API’s future cellular phone platforms. ART’s voice-recognition technology will provide a hands-free user experience when operating API’s cellular phones and will be in accordance with recent laws passed in many countries, including Japan and Germany, requiring hands-free operation of cell phones while driving.

Product features will include voice navigation through menu options and placing a call by speaking telephone number digits or a simple command such as, “Call John Doe at the office.”
