Here is what some other local radio stations are planning for New Year’s Eve:

KCBS-FM (93.1): “Rock the Millennium” (9 p.m. to midnight) with Joe Benson, featuring the best rock of the 20th century and conversations with the top stars.

KCRW-FM (89.9): “Selected Shorts,” a seven-hour marathon of previously broadcast short stories (9 a.m.-4 p.m.); “The Capitol Steps: The Year in Review,” the satiric singers wrap up 1999 (7 to 8 p.m.).

KKGO-FM (105.1): “Greatest Recordings of the 20th Century,” classical music from 10 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday.

KNX-AM (1070): Will preempt regular programming including the 9 p.m. “KNX Drama Hour” for local, national and global Y2K coverage.

KPCC-FM (89.3): “Memos to a New Millennium,” a 30-minute “radio essay” at 6 p.m. by legendary radio writer Norman Corwin about warfare, homelessness and pollution, with narration by Walter Cronkite. That will be followed at 6:30 p.m. by “Skywave Rider: Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio in the 1960s,” Ken Mills’ first-person documentary.

KPFK-FM (90.7): A 10-hour psychedelic music marathon (from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday), hosted by Barry Smolin of the station’s regular series “The Music Never Stops.”

KUSC-FM (91.5): “Jim Sveda’s Annual New Year’s Eve Bash,” classical music (from 7:30 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday).
