Museum

Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity. This may be the one and only day you can drive right on up to the Getty Center gates with no parking reservation. The hitch is--and you knew there had to be one--you might not actually get in to the museum. See, the Getty is kind of high-tech, so the museum is playing it by ear on this whole Y2K thing. On New Year’s Day, the staff will check out their computers and see if they’re ready to open on Sunday. Call ahead and be ready to pounce.
