Business owners in the city’s commercial district said at a public hearing last week that they feared they would have to move if the Gateway Specific Plan, an effort to redevelop the area, becomes a reality. Their main concern is that they would not be able to afford the increased square-footage costs during a lot-consolidation phase of the development. Another public hearing on the issue is planned for Feb. 9.
