UC Irvine, located in what the FBI ranks as one of the nation’s safest large cities, will host a public forum on “Crime in Orange County: How Bad Is It and What Are We Doing About It?” Thursday at the Irvine Barclay Theatre from 7:30 to 9 p.m. New Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona is the keynote speaker. Panelists include Superior Court Judge William Monroe, Santa Ana Police Lt. Michael Foote, San Juan Capistrano Councilwoman Collene Campbell and UCI criminology professor James Meeker.
