America Online signed a five-year agreement worth as much as $500 million to market credit cards via the Internet with Bank One Corp.’s First USA unit, the nation’s largest provider of MasterCard and Visa cards. The two companies established a co-branded Visa card in 1996, and the current agreement extends that connection.
