Downey on Ng

I totally agree with Mike Downey’s remarks concerning Charles Ng (Jan. 29). Ng’s detestable acts of murder and other crimes both in this country and in Canada qualify him as a monster. In my opinion Ng deserves the death penalty and the sooner the better.
My only quarrel with Downey is his reference to Ng as a former Marine. The U.S. Marine Corps does not need an ex-Army GI like me to defend it. But I don’t think it serves any useful purpose to associate Ng with the countless numbers of women and men who have proudly worn the uniform of the USMC.

As usual, I agree with Downey regarding Ng. May Ng rot in hell, indeed. But in this case and all cases with capital punishment involved, I must agree with the pope.
