The City Council this week approved a $44,000 contract for American House Moving Inc. to relocate the historic Kinsler House. Within the month, the Chino-based company will build a new foundation for the house at 258 S. Redwood Ave. and move the Craftsman-style bungalow there from its longtime spot at 129 S. Orange Ave.--now part of the city’s downtown redevelopment area.
The city agreed to the action after the Brea Historical Society expressed interest in preserving the house because of its association with Charles Kinsler, who spearheaded Brea’s move to incorporate in 1917.
