Gov. Frank Keating signed a bill Friday providing $29 million in emergency tax relief to Oklahoma’s oil industry, which has been ailing because of some of the lowest oil prices since the Depression.

Oil prices in Oklahoma have hovered between $8 and $9.75 a barrel for the last several weeks. Keating said the break-even point for oil producers is $12 to $14.
